While installing the RoomWizard devices to synchronize with the Deans Evans EMS RoomWizard interface, you need to know the following
- The EMS connector is named “RWAPI.aspx”. It resides in the same directory as the EMS RoomWizard Interface management page. So, the Base URL configured on the device we needed to use would need to include that file name.
- For example: http://MyCompany.net/emsroomwizardconnector/rwapi.aspx
If you troubleshoot the EMS connector by addressing it in a browser, you need to include a properly formatted command, such as:
http://MyCompany.net/emsroomwizardconnector/rwapi.aspx?command=about_connector
Or, you may get an application server error.
When configuring the devices for the EMS reservation system Room Identifier #s, be sure to use the RoomWizard Room ID on the EMS RoomWizard Interface Management Page and not the Room ID in the EMS reservation The RoomWizard Room ID on the EMS RoomWizard Interface Management Page is a unique ID specifically for the RoomWizard interface, which we needed to use as the Room ID on the devices.
If the Reservation System room ID is used the Caution symbol will be displayed as would expect.
If the RoomWizard connects to the EMS interface, is configured with the proper room ID, and does not show the caution symbol yet reservations are not displayed, this may be an issue with the EMS web.config
The symptoms noted were that reservations made in the EMS system were not displayed, but the “Use Now” button reservations would be displayed OK. The EMS server and the master EMS database have to be specified correctly in the web.config file for the two databases to be synchronized. If the customer cannot figure out how to do that, they should contact EMS support.
They may also need to use the EMSAPI account in the RoomWizard Synchronization page.
